What Winter Means

Brrr...The cold months are finally here. Our transports are slowing down to an almost halt and will pick up in February or March. This is usually the time we focus solely on fundraising and planning educational events. Yet this winter we are consolidating our endeavors. Many of you know we manage a farm animal rescue (Tilted Tavern Animal Sanctuary) and our business (SmashParks) in addition to WREN.

To simplify things, WREN has absorbed SmashParks. What does this mean? WREN will carry on supplying

our local community with eco-friendly products and

with our goal of acquiring land for conservation through our gaming app and revenue from our eco-friendly products. We will continue to pursue the SmashPark projects including placing fishing line recycling receptacles where needed.

This also means WREN will now have its own online store. We are currently pushing what is left of our T-shirt collection, and all items are marked down excluding our new owl stationery. Dr. Emily Warman, who designed our stationery, is also creating the design for our volunteer T-shirt. We will announce when this is ready for our volunteer transporters.

Giving Tuesday is tomorrow. And International Volunteer Day is this Friday. Our volunteers have helped us save numerous lives, teach others how to interact and when to intervene with wildlife, and continue to motivate us with their continuous acts of kindness! One of the projects we are raising funds is for protective gear (gloves) for volunteers that repeatedly handle cases involving capturing and handling wildlife. These gloves cost anywhere from $68 to $150 a pair.

You can help us by donating to our Facebook fundraiser or creating your own. Facebook will be matching donations starting at 8 am eastern time tomorrow (Tuesday December 3rd). They will match up to $7 million, and this will happen in a matter of seconds. Good luck to all of you that are raising funds and awareness for your nonprofit tomorrow! And thank you to those of you that support all of us and believe in what we do!
